Wholehearted is owned by myself, Ms. Jeanne Toweson. Welcome to my classroom! I hold my degrees in Early Childhood Development and Developmental Psychology. In the past, I have been the Child Development Director of the YWCA of the Calumet Area, and the preschool teacher and after school care director at Our Lady of Grace in Highland (a program I created and implemented myself). I have been named one of the "Top Twenty-Five Youth Care Professionals" in the state of Indiana by the Indiana Youth Institute. I am a member of NAEYC and IAEYC as well as the Indiana Youth Institute and attend regular meetings and conferences to bring new ideas to my school. I am also an active member of the Highland Tri-Kappa. I love to help, I love to teach, and I love to paint. Most of all, I love being a Mom to Kaleb (9) and Liberty (6).

Kindergarten Teacher

Mrs. Camie started with us as our Preschool Teacher. She has her degree in Elementary Education. She taught in public and country schools in Nebraska, was an assistant director of various child care centers and she had her own home child care. Camie and her husband Marc have a daughter Megan, and a son Kyle. She enjoys working in her yard and walking her dog in the evening.

Preschool teacher

Miss Audrey works as a teacher in the all day Preschool program. She holds her degree in Early Childhood Education and previously taught for two years at the Purdue Riley Center. She bought her first home in Highland with her husband Mark. Miss Audrey loves to camp at The Dunes, especially with her new puppy.

Kindergarten teacher

Mrs. Renee has been a Kindergarten teacher with WHOLEheartED for two years now. She holds her degree in Elementary Education with a Kindergarten endorsement. Renee and her husband live in Crown Point with their two children, Grace(4) and Tanner(2). She enjoys scrapbooking and loves to read.

Preschool Teacher

Mrs. Melisa joins us with her degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Special Ed - Mildly, Mentally Handicapped. Before coming to Wholehearted, Melisa taught first and third grade and tutored children at Sylvan Learning Center. She and her husband Mike live in Schererville with their two children Jacob(5) and Jaclyn(3). Melisa loves to scrapbook and is a "Close to my Heart" consultant in her spare time.

Preschool Teacher

Mrs. Tanya is a teacher in our half day preschool program. She holds her degree in Elementary Education with a Kindergarten endorsement. Tanya is the busy mom of Hanna(5), Makenna(4) and Gabriella(2). She enjoys shopping (especially at auctions), scrapbooking, outdoor activities and teaching with her life long friend, Mrs. Jeanne.

And of course, in addition to being educated, experienced, energetic and loving, all of our staff is certified in CPR and First Aid!
